Miluje starožitnosti, bleší trhy a čokoládu.

How did you get what you are doing now? I mean the first idea why IKEA?
To answer this question, I have to go back to the time when I was studying. There were two separate experiences which led me to join IKEA. First was my part time job, which I had as student. I get a job of visual merchandiser in one of big fashion design company. Then I realised that connection between comercial way of thinking with estectic one could be my way to find my self. Still during preparation to my final exam I decided to quit this position, to focus 100% at my dissertation. In 2008 I have graduate Academy of Art in Łódź, Poland, master of Graphic and Painting.
My first idea was to live life as freelancer, somehow at this point of my life I had few galeries in Poland where I was selling my oil paintings. I decided to add to these activities some visual identification, like design logo types, posters and plan exhibitions for companies. Still I was missing two things, working with people and this visual merchandiser part.
This was a stage when I decided to find company which has this position, one of them was IKEA. Which by that time was opening new store in my hometown in Poland. As you can predict I get a job, and till know I am working for IKEA.

What do You like about your job the most?
There are view things which I really like about my work, first of all working with people, during these years I had opportunity to meet a lot of amazing people from IKEA world, from different countries. This experience is one of the most powerfull and personally give a lot of energy but also inspiration, for work or personal life. As IKEA is global company there is not any boundaries except this in your head  it means that You have possibilities to move abroad or try other function, this is great place for personal growing.

What is your favourite movie or book?
Good question, when it comes to books the first which is comming to my head is 1Q84 Haruki Murakami, of course I could say that I like him as a writer but this especially stocked in my head. I think maybe main reason is that at his books there is world where real world goes to unrealistic even fanstastic one, and big part of my private art has same interaction.
When I think about movies it is harder, I really like to be up to date with movies, so mostly I am watching all types. Also I have really bad memory to titles of them, I simply remember pictures, emotions, music but not the name  :)
There is one movie which I suprisingly remember it is Eat Pray and Love, I simply believe that this one I saw in right time of life, and this was a reason why it made so big impression at me.

And the activity? For example, perfectly spent day?
I can say honestly that my favourite activity is to visit new places, sometimes it is a new country or city but the most often is new coffee place, nice bistro. This places where you can go with friends but also go alone, and just watch people how they speak, how they behave, I don’t want sound like creepy person which follow people, for me it is simply interesting and inspiring.

What do you like to do hobby?
I have one big love which we can name hobby, it is oil painting. This is also a reason why You wanted to do with me this interview hahaahah no it is a joke, you know me :)
How I came to that, so it was quite easy…. Both my parents are artists so I grown up in atelier of my father, I had plenty of diffrent activities like painting, drawing, sculpturing. I had some period to do a pictures. Simply somehow it was given, then I went to artistic high school and after that it was natural to continue in this way during the studies.
After first year we had organised planner where for two weeks we could paint and draw in nature. Then I realised it will be my way, for my art. Of course beginnings were more realistic close to nature, but as far I was creating new works it became more impressionist and later on even surrealistic, but still with roots of nature.
After two years I had first private exhibition and I started to sell my works in galeries.
Even if now my work takes quite big agenda of my life, still I have time to continue with my art, honestly I think I couldn’t live without it.  I can share with You that this year again I have opportunity to open International movie festival about nature, with my private exhibition which will have a place in Łódź in Poland 7th of June, all of interest are more then welcome. More details you can find at https://www.facebook.com/PaintingMalarstwo/

Your three favourite places on Earth?
Always it will be my  Łódź, in Poland, as my hometown. I think I don´t know to explain why. Second one is Prague it was love from first sight, I am happy to live here again, I think I will never get bored to take a walk through city, with my head up to sky, and watch all of this beautifull architectual details. And Barcelona, for weather, seaside, temperament of people and food.

What is your dream job or do you have dream job already?
I think I am lucky girl because now I am doing my dream job, I have opportunity to work with creative team of people, and be a part of new things which are growing in front of my eyes. I simply belive that life is to short to do things which are not your passion, especially at work.

My dear Caren,
I'll never forget how much you've done for me! Love you to the moon and back!
